Alier is a data scientist, statistician, and educator with over seven years of university teaching experience and about 5-year experience in healthcare analytics. He is passionate about delivering quality data-driven results with efficiency and high accuracy. As a former refugee, his life experiences have taught him the importance of patience, perseverance, pressure, and stress management.
He enjoys leveraging data science and machine learning capacities to solve real-world health, social, environmental, and financial problems. And he aspires to create a level field for data science education - he loves imparting knowledge. He co-founded the Jonglei Institute of Technology in January 2020 to help diaspora South Sudanese transition from their current careers to the field of data science as data analysts or data scientists and to help South Sudanese families learn the essence of financial management.
Alier holds a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Dallas (2008), a Master of Science in Professional Science with a concentration in Biostatistics from Middle Tennessee State University (2011), and an MBA in Information Systems Management from LeTourneau (2017).
